Perform and thrive in unity with Chiropractic Care for Horse and Rider.

Your Horse Loves to Perform

Horses love to work and perform for you and will do so at their own expense. They can’t tell you when they don’t feel at their best and there is so much we can do to help them thrive.

Unity Between Horse & Rider

As horse owners, we want the best for our horses and want to set them up for optimal performance, whether competing in the ring or enjoying our horses on the trails or at home.

I’m Dr. Kendle Dykstra, D.C and I grew up riding and competing in various equestrian sports and understand the bond shared with the equine counterpart.

I worked as a veterinary assistant for an equine vet practice for several years before attending New York Chiropractic College, where I obtained my doctorate in chiropractic degree.

I then furthered my studies with the Veterinary Chiropractic Learning Centre, allowing me to share my chiropractic services with animals. In 2023, I underwent additional testing and earned certification from the esteemed American Veterinary Chiropractic Association.

I combine my knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics with my passion for the sport to aid both horse and rider to perform optimally and in unity with each other.

How it Works

Initial Visit

During our initial visit, we’ll review your intake paperwork and discuss health history. I’ll perform a gait assessment and range of motion evaluation before treatment.

Homework

You’ll receive a custom homework prescription based on the findings of our initial visit. Hand-walking is recommended immediately following the appointment. No exercise is recommended for 24-48 hours after treatment, then regular routine and exercise can continue.

Follow-up Treatment

During follow-up visits, I’ll assess progress and evaluate the range of motion and/or gait again before treatment. We’ll review and make any necessary changes to homework.

“I’ve Never Seen My Horse Happier.”

We know that veterinary bills can be unexpectedly high because we don’t realize the degree or severity of the horse’s issues. Many problems are gradual and seem like normal ageing when in reality, they may be preventable. Horses love to work and perform and will silently suffer to keep their owners happy. Chiropractic care is a great way to improve the quality of your horse’s life, treat performance issues and help your horse thrive. Our prices vary dependent on the location and number of horses seen at one farm. Treatments are low-risk, and the most common feedback we receive is, “I’ve never seen my horse happier.” Initial visits are approximately 1-hour, and follow-up visits are about 45-minutes. Every patient is unique, and each treatment plan reflects their different needs. A minimum of one follow-up appointment is typically recommended to ensure that the cause of the concern has been fully resolved. We offer treatment for both horse and rider to ensure you are both thriving in unity.
